The goal of the collaborative project “eCompetence and Utilities for Learners and Teachers” (eCULT) is to gather, expand and share the diverse experiences and expertise that already exist at universities in Lower Saxony in the use of digital learning technologies to improve teaching. To achieve this, a cross-university team will be established to support and complement local efforts. This will also be accomplished through the joint provision and maintenance of tools and digital learning technologies that are commonly used across the partner institutions. The project focuses on the following three objectives:

• Disseminating three didactic approaches based on digital learning technologies according to quantitative targets aimed at improving teaching quality.
• Building and providing the necessary learning technologies and services, including didactic consulting, support and technical provision.
• Rehabilitating and further developing digital learning technologies to support the teaching of tomorrow.

The follow-up project eCULT+, funded until the end of 2020, aims to further develop the potential of the digital teaching and learning processes created within eCULT to improve study conditions and enhance teaching quality. It seeks to pick up new innovations and spread the successes from the first funding phase more efficiently. To this end, the above-mentioned goals are further refined and implemented across 16 thematic areas by the staff of the partner institutions.
